The Hooker and the Hermit

The Hooker and the Hermit - Penny Reid, Luci Cosway This is the story of Annie, who is very much a hermit based on her past. She is very, very good at her job which allows her to work from home the majority of the time. She goes into the office a few days a week. Her job? To make "bad" celebrities look "good."

One day while at work, innocently eating (she thinks) an eclair, she catches the eye of Ronin, rugby superstar. Ronin wants no part of the publicity machine - until he sees Annie and feels an instant attraction.

This book draws you in, instantly. From the opening scene, when Annie first sees Ronin, and sees for herself the sadness in his eyes, you cannot help the fact that you will become fascinated with Ronin. And not just Ronin, but Annie and her idiosyncrasies. The budding romance between the two, and the obstacles they deal with, will have your heart swelling with excitement, then breaking as you wonder if they can make it work. Furthermore, the chemistry between the two of them is freaking off the charts hot, so it will have your panties melting, too.

Ronin is one of the best heroes I have had the pleasure of getting to know in some time. What is it about him? So many things. His pursuit of Annie, even in the face of her "hermit-ness." The cocky grins you can literally picture in your mind when he makes a sexy comment. His devotion to his family. His devotion to Annie. And his wonderfully naughty, dirty mouth and control in the bedroom (OMG - I think I had a big "O" just reading his words!). This line is from the book, but I think it covers me as well - Ronin Fitzpatrick has ruined me for other men.

As for Annie - you really cannot help but to love her. She is smart, and funny (especially when it comes to her second job that she does anonymously). She is like a little turtle that slowly but surely comes out of her shell, and when she does - look out because she moves full steam ahead.

Another book that I find I cannot say enough good things about. I had all the feels - even tears of happiness - and let me tell you, I am one big, single, cynical woman when it comes to love. So for a book to give me tears like that is saying a lot.

Further, several days after finishing this book, I still have Ronin and Annie in my mind. Here's hoping these two authors join together again, but they have simply created something magical in this story - imagine what more magic they could do!
