It is no secret that I am a huge fan of Ella James and her fairy tale “re-tellings.” Hansel is the third fairy tale she has re-worked, and I found it to be a bit darker, very interesting… a bit twisted. It is the story of Luke and Leah. Luke has a past that is so heartbreaking, you can’t help but want to fix him; to help make him happy. Their trails past years ago, when Luke was adopted by a psycho path, who collects children and puts them in fairy tale settings. She refers to Luke as Hansel. There is also Snow White in the house. She decides that Hansel needs a Gretel, and finds Leah – all due to ramblings by Luke after the crazy woman has filled him full of pills and liquor. Together, Luke and Leah survive the horrors of being held prisoner by this woman. Ten years later, there is a chance encounter that throws them together.

Again, I found it to be a bit darker and more twisted than (specifically) Red & Wolfe, which was my favorite of the three. This is still a great series, with great characters, sizzling sex, and a plot twist that you don’t see coming.
